  • more than $35 billion in efficiently-managed social and affordable housing.

PowerHousing Australia is the Australian member of the International Housing Partnership which brings together housing organisations across the UK, USA, Canada and Australia.

Our vision is to provide an independent voice of leading not-for-profit community housing providers by sharing best practice member exchange.

Our History

PowerHousing Australia began in 2005 when a group of housing executives recognised the scale of the emerging housing crisis and the need for housing organisations to collaborate to share knowledge and resources. It was incorporated in 2008 and has Members across Australia.

We are based in Canberra which is the seat of Government in Australia and work closely with our Members, Affiliates and Associates to act as the independent voice of growth providers of social and affordable housing

Today PowerHousing Australia has a diversity of Member  organisations whose main activity is housing provision to multi-service agencies which have a housing division. The common element is the commitment to address housing need through growth of supply, best practice in housing and community development and excellence in tenancy and asset management.
