This year marks the 23rd edition of the Report on Government Services – comparing the performance of governments in the efficient and effective delivery of a wide range of services aimed at improving the wellbeing of all Australians.
The Report is produced by the Productivity Commission for the Steering Committee for the Review of Government Service Provision.
Report in brief/Comments – Community Housing generally receives best rankings for priority access, amenity/location and dwelling condition however the report notes that there the data is not comparable necessarily across public/community housing types or jurisdictions. Community Housing is rated around 8 percentage points higher than public housing for customer satisfaction and this is deemed to be comparable subject to caveats across jurisdictions and public/community provider. As with previous reports overcrowding is deemed to be an issue. The Productivity Commission notes that further work is underway to enhance the report and this will be required to provide categorical research on delivery of services.
