Australians for Affordable Housing campaign

PowerHousing Australia a trade association and business cooperative of 29 of Australia’s nfp growth housing providers is firmly behind the Australians for Affordable Housing campaign. Our members have almost 75% of all community housing nationally under management and we are committed to ensure that the nfp sector continues to be a major player in the continuing delivery of affordable housing supply.

Our members know only too well the issues that confront all Australians in  finding decent, affordable housing. Our front line staff deal every day with Australians trying to find housing. Our waiting lists, our intake areas and our phone lines are busy every day of every week with enquires to find Australians affordable rental housing.

We are constructive partners with all three levels of government and the private sector to build a pipeline of housing to address the critical shortage of supply in Australia. Our members have in particular continued to work with the Federal Government to to deliver housing under the Economic Stimulus Package – we believe there is a critical need to continue this great investment. After all housing is just like any other infrastructure project  it needs to be in place for continued economic and social progress and cohesion.
