Major affordable housing boost for Rockhampton
Go Back07-Dec-2011 Affordable housing in Rockhampton will receive a major boost under a State Government initiative. Premier Anna Bligh today announced Rockhampton’s first Urban Development Area will be declared using State Government legislation. Ms Bligh said it would take in vacant land at the Central Queensland University (CQU) as well as the former CSIRO site west of the university campus. “This site will deliver up to 1500 homes to suit a range of budgets and incomes but with a major focus on affordable homes,” Ms Bligh said.
