PowerHousing Australia is a national network of leading not for profit growth community housing providers who develop and manage social and affordable housing. Collectively, PowerHousing Australia’s 28 members provide over 38,000 units of housing worth more than $10 billion and have raised over $385 million to fund the development of affordable housing, providing homes for some 80,000 people across Australia.
PowerHousing Australia is the Australian member of the International Housing Partnership which brings together housing organisations across the UK, USA, Canada and Australia.
Our vision is for a sustainable system capable of meeting affordable housing need.
PowerHousing Australia began in 2005 when a group of housing executives recognised the scale of the emerging housing crisis and the need for housing organisations to collaborate to share knowledge and resources. It was incorporated in 2008 and has Members across Australia.
Today PowerHousing Australia has a diversity of Members ranging from organisations whose main activity is housing provision to multi-service agencies which have a housing division. The common element is the commitment to address housing need through growth of supply, best practice in housing and community development and excellence in tenancy and asset management.
